The Shanghainese Steam Meat Dumpling a.k.a. Xiao Long Bao
http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc94/joyofood/Malaysia/Franchise/Dragon-I/Dsc00287.jpg

A traditional Shanghainese delicacy that originated from Nanxing Province, the soup-filled steamed meat dumpling or xiao long bao is shaped like a translucent pagoda-shaped jewel. Encased within the smooth, thin skin with exactly 18 plaits, is a delicately seasoned filling of minced Chinese ham, lean pork and ginger. Puncture the skin to allow the steaming hot soup to seep out before savouring the dumpling with a dack of black vinegar with a few slivers of fresh ginger.

I finally found a way of eating it properly after trying the xiao long bao for many times. I found it easier to hold the xiao long bao at its plaits using chopsticks and put it on a ceramic spoon. Then, give it a small bite and have a sip of the soup first. Next, have a taste of the meat filling together with the leftover soup. Yum yum~

The Custard Bun

The custard filling was very creamy. We love it very much. Mind you, the custard filling is hot when it's first served. However, it is best eaten hot, or at least warm. If you do not plan to eat it as soon as it is served, you could actually ask the waiter/waitress to serve it later.

The Seafood La Mien

The noodles and the soup tasted so so to me, but my mom said it was nice.

The Steamed Rice with Pork Chop

This was ok too. However, IMHO, it's better to stir the rice before eating, so that the gravy mix well with the rice.

The Spring Onion Pancake
Dragon-I

The thickness of the pancake was ok and the spread of the spring onions was appropriate. What's make it more attractive was that it wasn't oily at all. One piece wouldn't be enough.

The Mixed Fruit Shaved Ice Dessert

This was really refreshing, nothing special though.
